Asia Argento and Ashton Whitty

Ashton Blaise Whitty is an American actress who was born in Berkeley on the 1st October 1995. She is an actress of renown who has appeared in Choices (2010). The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2006,) and Chrissie mayr's Content House.

Asia Argento grew up in Rome Italy. Her family is a group of actors, as is she, herself doing both professions. At the age of nine she was first seen in her debut film Sergio Cittis's Sogni e bisogni. She played the leading role in Cristina Comencini's Zoo (1988) as well as a part of Michele Savi's 1989 movie The Church. Red Wood Pigeon, directed by Moretti in 1989, was her character in the role of Nanni Moretti's daughter. It was with Close Friends (1992), written and directed by Michele Placido, that Asia's career truly took off. she had the opportunity to move on from playing very young girls to more complex, mature characters. The film was well-received in the Cannes International Film Festival. In Trauma (1993) it was the first time she was the first to work alongside her father, the renowned Italian filmmaker Dario Argento (her mother is among his favorite actors, Daria Nicolodi, playing an overweight girl who is in search for her parents' killer. The Phantom of the Opera was the third film she acted in together with her father and the two other films were Trauma, and The Stendhal Syndrome. The actress's absorbed, intense acting style has been well used in Giuseppe Piccioni's Condannato a nozze. Patrice Chereau directed her in Queen Margot in which she played a prominent role. She also starred alongside Michel Piccoli as Traveling Companion as played by Peter Del Monte. This role won her both an award from David di Donatello (for the best actor) and a Grolla in Oro. Asia began directing short films around 1994. She made two: Prospettive in 1996. She directed a documentary about her father and then Abel/Asia from 1998. Both focused on the legendary director Abel Ferrara. This latter was presented at the Rome Film Festival. Asia's debut feature film is Scarlet Diva (2000) in 1999. In it, she was the lead actor and wrote the screenplay. In May 2000, the film was released both in Italy and around the globe. In Brooklyn, New York it was awarded an award at the Williamsburg film festival. Anna Lou, the first daughter of the couple, was born in January 2001. In 2002, she was involved in The Red Siren directed by Olivier Megaton and starred alongside Jean-Marc Barr. Rob Cohen also directed the action film together with Vin Diesel. Asia also wrote some short stories which were published in a variety of magazines.
